Landon IP is excited to announce that Atsushi Nozaki, the Senior Director of Landon IP GK, was recently elected to be a member of the Board of Directors of the Federation of Patent Information Suppliers (FPIS). Mr. Nozaki is very well-known and respected by the IP community in Japan. He is frequently invited to lecture on patent-related topics by many IP organizations in Japan. This latest honor is further evidence of his standing among his peers.
FPIS is based in Tokyo and currently has 19 member organizations. FPIS members primarily represent companies that provide patent information-related services, such as patent searching, databases, and intellectual property software. In addition to Landon IP, current members include Thomson, RWS, Aztec, and the Korea Techno Agency, as well as some Japanese patent law firms, such as Sakamoto International, Eikoh and IRD International.
FPIS holds meetings in January, April, June, August, and November every year to discuss current topics of interest in the patent information industry. In August they have an annual meeting with representatives of the Japan Patent Office (JPO) to review policies impacting patent information. They also host seminars relating to patent searching and analysis.
