Landon IP is excited to announce that Kristin Whitman, our Reference Desk Librarian and an expert in all aspects of patent data and information, has been invited to deliver a presentation at the European Patent Office’s Patent Information Conference. This conference will be held from October 22-24, 2013 in Bologna, Italy at the Palazzo della Cultura e dei Congressi. This is one of the leading conferences in Europe for patent information professionals, and this year’s program is organized in partnership with the Directorate General for the Fight Against Counterfeiting – Italian Patent and Trademark Office.
Ms. Whitman’s presentation will be on Wednesday, October 23 at 11:30am on the topic, “Information About the Information – The Importance of Knowing What is in the Database”. She will focus her remarks on the many challenges related to working with patent legal status information, which is hampered due to the fragmented and ever-changing nature of the data, creating particular difficulties in a multinational environment.
Ms. Whitman has seven years of experience in the patent information industry at Landon IP and holds a master’s degree in Library and Information Science from Rutgers University. She was a leader in the creation of Intellogist®, a revolutionary online tool developed by Landon IP for the intellectual property industry that offers objective information on patent searching resources. Ms. Whitman is also a regular contributor to the Intellogist® Blog.
