Mr. Atsushi Nozaki, the Senior Director of Tokyo-based Landon IP GK, has written a book titled, “Patent Information Search and Searching Techniques”, which will be published in Japan by the Japan Institute for Promoting Invention and Innovation on October 30. The book is intended for engineers, researchers, and patent practitioners who need to search patent information during their research and IP activities. The book consists of four main parts:

  • Basic knowledge of patent law to aid in searching patent information
  • How to search patent information based on patent numbers
  • How to locate patent information based on company name and inventor name
  • How to develop search queries effectively and efficiently using a patent search matrix proposed by Mr. Nozaki.

Mr. Nozaki is a well-known expert on patent searching and analytics among the IP community in Japan. He is frequently invited to lecture on patent-related topics by many IP organizations in Japan.  This is his second book as a single author; in 2011 he published a book related to patent analysis and mapping.

野崎篤志が「特許情報調査と検索テクニック入門」を出版

ランドンIP合同会社のシニアディレクター(日本事業統括部長)である野崎篤志が執筆した「特許情報調査と検索テクニック入門」が10月30日に発明推進協会より出版されます。この書籍は研究開発活動や特許出願活動において特許情報調査を必要とする技術者や特許実務家向けに書かれています。主に4つのパートから構成されており、1つ目のパートは特許情報調査に必要な特許法の基礎知識、2つ目のパートは番号検索、3つ目のパートは企業名や発明者名検索、そして最後のパートは特許検索マトリックスに基づく効果的かつ効率的な特許検索式の構築方法です。野崎氏は2011年に「特許情報分析とパテントマップ作成入門」を執筆しており、この書籍は単著として2冊目となります。

野崎氏は特許情報および調査・分析全般にわたり第一人者として知られています。

Landon IP GK will be hosting an exhibit at the 2015 Patent Information Fair & Conference to be held in Tokyo, Japan from November 4-6, 2015.  This is Landon IP’s 7th consecutive year of attending this event, which is Japan’s largest exhibition specializing in patent and intellectual property information.  The 2014 conference had 18,474 registered attendees and over 200 exhibitor booths.

The conference will once again be held at the Science Museum in Kitanomaru Park in Tokyo.  The event is organized by the Japan Institute for Promoting Invention and Innovation; the Japan Patent Information Organization; Fuji Sankei Business i; and the Sankei Shimbun Co., Ltd. Landon IP’s exhibit can be found at booth 60 in the Center Hall.

This year, Landon IP will be delivering short lectures on four different topics each day at our exhibitor booth. After the conference, we will share the lecture slides with attendees who listen to the lectures and exchange their business cards with Landon IP staff.  The lecture schedule is as follows:

Mr. Atsushi Nozaki, the Senior Director of Tokyo-based Landon IP GK, has been invited to be a program director for a training program being offered by the Japan Patent Attorneys Association (JPAA).  As part of the JPAA’s IP Business Academy, Mr. Nozaki will be the program director for “Strategy for Intellectual Property Searching,”  which consists of a total of six classes offered in:

  • Osaka on January 31, February 14, and February 28, and
  • Tokyo on February 21, March 7, and March 21

Mr. Nozaki will lecture at 3 of the 6 classes, and he will be supported by guest lecturers Mr. Hotaka Sugano of NEC, Mr. Kazuhiro Yamaguchi of Soei Patent & Law Firm, Mr. Yasuhisa Yamaguchi of DBJ Capital, and Mr. Takaaki Yamaoka of Wise Patent Service.
